In a press release, BMW announced that the enthusiast-hailed 1-Series will no longer be offered as a 2014 model. Production for the convertible and coupe versions has already ended as of June and August respectively.

Volvo is working with researchers at Imperial College London on batteries that are integrated into the body panels of vehicles. McLaren came back to the super car stage with the McLaren Mp4-12C in 2011. This represents the first car designed in house by McLaren since 1998, which is when the McLaren F1 was last produced. McLaren is known for their F1 heritage and have dominated the world stage multiple times. The McLaren MP4-12C is a road going car and is one of the most distinguished super car on the market today. The MP4 name has been used in F1 to designate chassis design, the 12 represents an internal standard that McLaren uses to design their vehicles, and the C represents Carbon which is heavily used in McLaren design.

It may look like a mouse but the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage goes back to automotive basics. In a day and age where consumers are demanding more power, more luxury, and more tech, vehicles are becoming bloated and overweight. The 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage is fighting that trend. Weighing in at 1,973 pounds and powered by a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter 3 cylinder generating a poky 74 horsepower and 74 pound feet of torque. Some may look at this car and ask, why? This is what the compact cars of the 80’s and 90’s were like, small, naturally aspirated, workhorses. There are no weight reduction tricks, no force-induction, and no over the top design to compensate for its lack of performance.
